Make Your Own Crossword Puzzles: Why?

Why would you want to make your own crossword puzzles? Well, maybe you’re like me and want to do something for the children you teach (wherever that may be).
Maybe, you’re just extremely bored and have nothing else better to do. Maybe you’ve just got a fascination with the words, “down and across”.

Either way we all have our reasons, and today I read an article that can be a really good reason for everyone to want to make your own crossword puzzles.

Crossword puzzles are a good (is great too strong of a word?), source making the brain stronger.. Atleast according to the folks over at indiatimes.com, where I plucked out this tidbit of info,

Regardless of the activity — crossword puzzles, wood carving, playing a new musical instrument — you need to feel as if you are mentally sweating in order to really affect the brain, and that’s regularly, no just once a month.

The same holds true for your job. If you’re not finding new challenges at work, you’re not demanding your brain to create new cells.

Crosswords are better because they create brain cells throughout many key parts of the cerebral cortex, improving overall function.

Isn’t that neat?

It also goes on to say that crossword puzzles may even help produce brain cells in the frontal lobe.
I think that controls snoring, and bad eating habits or something. :)

I will say.. I do enjoy a good mental sweat.

So Lets Get em hooked!

Get the kids hooked, definitely get grandma hooked and re-hook yourself! I think we should all throw some crossword puzzles in our daily diets. But, thats just because I love em so!

So, O.K. Guys, I hope you enjoyed my first post.

If anyone out there has any links to good sites for people interested in crossworld puzzles or specifically for those people out there who want to make your own crossword puzzles. Please, please submit some in your comments, assuming that there are actually people out there reading. Sure hope I’m not alone here..Hopefully, we can help each other.
